Khalifah Project

Please know that the main purpose of this website is to offer the people of the world a logically reasonable, eminently practical, and undeniably achievable way to solve all of the problems facing our modern world using the knowledge and methods offered by the Khalifah Project. Do you find this claim hard to believe? Of course you do, any rational person upon first hearing such a claim would; but, please do not let that well justified skepticism keep you from having a look at what the Khalifah Institute has to offer. Be among the first to become acquainted with this remarkable and innovative world view (presented through the language and concepts of modern science and logic, but consistent with the traditional beliefs and practices of Islam). Perhaps you will be inspired to become a member of the Transforming Generation, a generation who will transform the world, fixing all that is wrong and offering the children of the future a God-centered, spiritual world full of peace and love.

SESSION 3J: KHALIFAH PROJECT – SOLVING THE PROBLEMS FACING MUSLIM UMMAH: A MALAYSIAN EXPERIENCE

The session will describe the Malaysian experience of solving the problems facing the Muslim Ummah with the unique, practical and powerful new approach called Khalifah Project. It is based on the hypothesis that if you give any individual or social group a positive, accurate, and motivational worldview plus a good understanding of the Laws of Learning by which all human characteristics develop, then that individual or social group will move naturally and inevitably toward everything good and right.

Bridging the chasm

This entry serves to provide some information on expanding your knowledge base.

First of all, I want to let you all know about this great tracker site for torrents relevant to Muslims. It’s at IslamicTorrents.net. I’ve downloaded tens of documentaries and talks from this website and I find them very informative. I urge you to take advantage of what advanced consumer technology has to offer these days.

On the other hand, some might be distraught that I promote piracy, even more so of Muslim productions. Well, what I can say here is that I know most Malaysians can never afford to purchase any products from Saba Islamic Media, let alone an international Islamic production company. So rather than not being given the chance to benefit from all these wonderful videos, software and audios, I’d definitely urge you to just go for pirated copies via IslamicTorrents.net.

Asides from IslamicTorrents, I also like to download from mvgroup.org which compiles all the PBS, NG, Discovery and BBC documentaries. Very educational indeed (if you have the time to watch all those videos, that is). And if you want to study in a university-like fashion, go to mininova.org and enter “TTC” in the search box. You’ll find all the lecture titles from The Teaching Company, a company that records lectures from the best professors in the world. They also include a PDF reference book for you to read as you listen to the lectures.

If you have a video iPod or PDA, you can keep yourself occupied by watching these documentaries, videos, lectures etc while on the go. You can even do so systematically by taking notes and discussing them with peers and online forums.

Last but not least, may I recommend you use an RSS Aggregator to update yourself on all the latest ongoings around the world instantly and effortlessly. It is a program which downloads the latest entries from news sites, podcasts and blogs. There are online-based aggregators such as GoogleReader and offline ones (I recommend Newz Crawler – it’s definitely the best one available). So basically, if you see a red square in the Address Bar of Firefox, then that site provides RSS Feeds. All you do is subscribe to it via your aggregator.

To sum it all up, I’ve given you some tips to increase your knowledge base, in hopes that we can all take advantage of information to overcome lack of education opportunities and bridge the chasm between us Muslim nations and developed nations (whom control tools of mass propaganda). We live in an information age. It’s a war of the minds. This is the Jihad.

Aphorism: Reducing wrongs

Much, perhaps most, of the wrong done in the world today is done by people who believe that the wrong thing they do is somehow necessary. If that perceived necessity was eliminated then there would be a substantial reduction in the amount of wrong done.

Q & A: Why we should follow mazhabs

Question:

It says in the Quran that we should not create sects. So why is it necessary to follow one of the mazhabs? Why cant one just say I follow Islam as told by Prophet Muhammad(sw)?

Answer:

You may not know this, but qualified Islamic scholars are not expected to follow a madhab (a particular school of highly scholarly Islamic interpretation). It would be wonderful if every Muslim was sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to interpret Allah’s revelation so accurately that we knew in every situation what Allah would allow and what He would not allow. Unfortunately, that is not the reality of our Ummah. Since we are required to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah, but most of us are not qualified Islamic scholars, it is only reasonable to seek those Muslims of greatest knowledge for guidance. The four established madhab are based on the knowledge of some of the greatest minds in the history of Islam. It seems to me this explains fairly well why we need madhab.

The Answer Man

Follow-up question:

Why then do we have a permanent set of 4 choice of mazhabs only? Why can't there be more, or less. It is certainly not a divine decree that those 4 are the chosen ones, so why do we so strictly follow it?

Answer:

Many Muslims today ask a similar question, so it is obviously an issue of interest. To have four madhab is not by sacred law, but by well reasoned tradition. The scholars of the four madhab are considered to have been among the greatest in the history of Islam. Additionally they were much closer in time to the Islam practiced by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the companions than more modern scholars. It is believed there are no scholars alive today who equal the founders of the four madhab in knowledge of Islam, so no advantage could be gained by introducing another madhab. There have been other madhab in the past, and even today there a few minor, not well accepted madhab around. Perhaps in the future there will come a time when a scholar exists of such great knowledge that another madhab will come from his interpretations. It is not now as fixed an issue as it had been for many hundred years in the past as the door to ijtihad has opened a bit. What is important is how well we understand the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and it seems for that purpose the four existing madhab are quite excellent and sufficient.

Aphorism: In the creation of a true Islamic state,…

In the creation of a true Islamic state, and in regard to the place of non-muslims in that Islamic state, a fair first step is to be sure the non-muslims do nothing which is a bad influence on Muslims.

Aphorism: Having a sophisticated knowledge of Islam

A simple but accurate knowledge of Islam is sufficient to bring about a world good and right in every aspect, but a full and sophisticated knowledge of Islam can greatly accelerate that process.

Q & A: Why does Allah need help?

Question:

I thought Allah was omnipotent, meaning all powerful. I thought Allah could do anything. If this is true why does Allah need the help of human beings to be his Khalifah "to ensure the Physical Creation unfolds rightly according to His Will"? I think this question is very important so can you please answer it?

Answer:

You are right; Allah is omnipotent, all powerful. There is nothing Allah cannot do; therefore, Allah needs no help from anyone. The reason that Allah has created human beings to be His Khalifah (helper) is that for the completion of our spiritual advancement we need to be Allah's Khalifah. So rather than Allah creating us to be His Khalifah because He needs our help, Allah through His unparalleled Mercy has granted us the opportunity to be His Khalifah so that by successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of that most honoured role we may fulfill our spiritual destiny.

Aphorism: No Muslim should ever..

No Muslim should ever influence any person to go down the negative path as judged from the perspective of where that person is at that point in their life on the continuum of good and evil.
