Did you know that Allah created human beings to be His Khalifah over the whole “world of space and time”? That means each of you has been given the responsibility to help make sure that Allah’s Grand Cosmic Plan is fully and truly carried out to successful completion through the whole universe. Allah wants you to help make His whole physical universe as close to perfect as possible. Of course right now we have to concentrate on fixing all the problems here on planet Earth, but if we can successfully carry out our responsibilities as Allah’s Khalifah here on planet Earth, then maybe someday there will be starships full of Muslims traveling throughout the universe helping to make sure everything is the just way Allah wants it to be.
Of course I cannot say for sure all that will happen, only Allah knows for sure; but, I can say for sure all of that is within the possible future of Islam and of the human species. Islam is so much greater than most of us can imagine. Our Sun is a star, and every star you see at night is a sun for another solar system. On a clear night we can see perhaps as many as 8,000 stars in the sky. That sounds like quite a lot doesn’t it? But, if we were to use the best instruments astronomers have developed to see out into the universe we would find the total number of stars in the ‘known universe’ to be about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. That unbelievably gigantic number is ten thousand billion billion, and even that number which is far beyond our ability to comprehend is only a tiny bubble of stars and galaxies within an unknowably larger universe.
I say to you my dear Muslim brothers and sisters, in the future when you say “Allahu Akbar”, which means Allah is Greatest, maybe then you can have a bit better idea exactly how incredibly, inconceivably, unimaginably great Allah really is.
